nonprofit fundraising system like Aids Walk

I’m looking for a system that is similar to Kintera’s Friends Asking Friends. For around $1,000 a year you get a hosted/template wed site that fully runs the fundraising events.

The module is specially designed for walks, runs, and other participant oriented fundraising events. This module will allow you to post important event information, such as dates and times, as well as allow online registrations, donations, and other functionality.

The module entails two components:
•The main website created by you, the client
•Personal Donation Pages, created by the individual participants

About the main site
You, the client, will create the main website, whereby online visitors may learn about your nonprofit, event details (date, starting time, etc.), and other relevant information. Furthermore, they will be able to register online, donate online, and search for individual participant Personal Donation Pages.

About the Personal Donation Pages
Every online registrant receives his/her own Personal Donation Page (which can be customized), as well as a suite of online tools, including email and reporting capability. Participants use their Personal Donation Pages to email friends, solicit donations, encourage event participation, and raise event awareness.

Has anyone used a service like this before?

Does anyone know of a similar script that I can implement on my own host/web site?

Thank you,
Mike K.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld magicbag,

It is CMS of sorts, I guess a relatively specialized one. I have used similar when making donations to various cancer walks and the like.

maybe searching for a multi user CMS might help you figure it out.

you can look specifically at CMS (content management systems) here
[cmsmatrix.org...]

other options might be to look through online script repositories such as [hotscripts.com...] or [sourceforge.net...]

I assume you have already tried various keyword combinations on search engines.

I guess you could also roll your own but I imagine that might cost you more than the 1K per year

Thank you for you speedy reply.

Sorry if my post seemed like an ad but I just figured that they cloud explain what their system has to offer better that I could type!

I do know about CMSs although I have never used one. The problem is that there are SO many of them and I mostly need a system that can manage the individual participants and all of their sponsor donations.

Since I am on a tight schedule I guess I will use them. I still would like to know if anyone has used them of if they know of another paid system.

I also found Convio but there was a leagle battle between Convio and Kintera back in 2000

Thanks again...
Mike

sorry I can't help more

It is somewhat similar to one of the hosted build your own website systems some hosts have. Kind of like a yahoo site or something. Maybe looking for things along that vein might help as well.
