Random image password generator / login

Where do I find this?

I've been looking through script archives and via google and my searches thus far have proven fruitless.

What I am looking for is a script that generates a random password displayed in an image, which must then be entered into a box before clicking to continue.

This is being implemented to prevent robot / software-driven logins (i.e.: spam). I've seen this in action on many sites but for the life of me I can't find this bit of code.

Technically, it is for a url suggestion page, but most link-management / link-manipulation scripts do not have this (none of the ones I looked through did). I am fairly certain I can extract the needed parts perhaps someone send me in the approximate direction?

thanks
