site hacked

I have a site running mambo CMS version 4.5.2 and someone hacked it with this message:

nEt^DeViL OwNz Your Box! ¦ Sorry You Don't Have Security!

with a bunch of other stuff on there as well. I restored the site, but is anyone else familiar with this particular hack and how to prevent it from happening again?

It's been known for several months. The fix is to upgrade to the latest patched version of Mambo. :)

yeah i knew that Mambo had vulnerabilities of that nature, this was an older site that I hadn't yet upgraded to Joomla :(

So was this specific hack most likely caused by the SQL injection vulnerabilities that the older mambo has?
