I am shooting in the dark but is it possible to build a classical HTML page, no table no anything with the only purpose of including your PHP, therefore still calling it whatever.php and do your refresh in the HTML head? sould work? Shouldn't it? if you have an heavy PHP process give it 1 sec instead of 0 sec.
