Hi All,

I need a way for visitors to search my entire site with the standard search box and search button. Can someone direct me to a simple script (free would be nice!) for this? Thanks!

I have been looking for an open source site-wide search engine to include in a website (for a client) as well. The ones that I've researched that provide the most functionality are htdig and swish-e, but both of these require you to have root access to the server to install them. This is pretty crummy for me since I am using a virtual hosting account since I don't have my own server.

I don't know how elaborate your search function needs to be Swebbie, but if you just need to perform a simple keyword search, you could try "sphider" or "phpdig" - just Google it.

I checked out your "FDSE" Esllou, but it seems to be written in perl - I thought this was a php thread? Thanks for the input though...

If anyone knows of something that can index webpages with more control by providing "advanced" search options for the user, please post a link :)
