Hey there,

My boss wants me to create an internal project management system for managing the clients, projects and staff. The (vague) requirements he's given me seem pretty general and I'm assuming someone out there has done something very similar to what he wants already.

Can any suggest any decent open source project management systems?

Ok! i work on that kind of stuff. But it is in spanish languaje.
And besides, this magnificent site is not for promoting it by self. this is for we learn and share our experiences and that is terrific.

based on my modest experience I think...

Well, I always opted by doing by your self, but seems you are hurried up.

Then I recommend you ...

First read this (is something like you asked) [webmasterworld.com...]

And then return here and please comment it.

But remember that: you are a programmer: ask for help and we will help you all what you want (i'm new here but i'm sure of that)

Try sourceforge.net , they have open source project management systems ranging from basic to extremely advanced level, you might want to specifically look for "NetOffice" or "DotProject" , There are big big blogbusters too over there but i dont think they are really needed.

P.S: This isn't any advertisement of any software i mentioned, cause they are all opensource on sourceforge

We used to use IPM here:

[sourceforge.net...]

It was pretty easy to modify to do what we needed. Unfortunately the project seems to have become stale, so don't expect new features. An otherwise excellent program.
