Zip code proximity searches?

Does anyone know of a free web service or way of taking in a zip code, and returning a list of zip codes nearby? I have a DB of addresses (including zip codes) and I need the user to enter in their target zip code and see which locations are in their area. This seems to be a frequent requirement so there should be ways out there.. thanks everyone

Check out the PHP Classes Repository, they have a number of classes there for manipulating and calculating .zip code information.

[phpclasses.org...]

Type in 'zip codes' on the search and see what comes up.
