Those of you that know me, know that I hardly ever start new threads. But I think we have an opportunity here, and I wanted to run it past you all.
A group of us were brainstorming a short time ago, and thinking up ideas for very minor interface changes that could most likely be quickly accomplished, but which would add real value for our advertisers. Or make life with AdWords easier. Or more pleasant. Or more efficient.
You get the picture.
Anyway, in mid-meeting I stopped and said I should ask the folks on WebmasterWorld. Who better, right?
So, we're looking for ideas on the level of this example:
I'd like to see small message next to date range tool, saying that it's setting will stay where the advertiser puts it, until it is actively changed.
It's just a tiny thing, right? But it'd probably help to avoid a lot of confusion over time. After all, how often do we talk on this Forum about making sure someone is looking at an appropriate date range?
Anyway, we're looking for really small 'niceties' such as that. And while I can't make an actual promise that any or all ideas will be implemented, I do promise that they'll be seen by the right people!
Are you game? Give it a shot, and lets see how many we can get by the end of the day! (Or pretty soon, at least.)
Thanks in advance. ;)

Just to keep things heading in the right direction: bnhall and BeauCreative, your ideas, while well worth hearing are actually leaning towards the major side, and almost require modifying the underlying system as opposed to the interface to the system - if that make sense.
I hope that helps to make the distinction more clear. It's important to stick to the smaller ideas, as I have a great opportunity to put them in front of exactly the right team over the next few days.
One of team was in here just a second ago, in fact, grinning about how fast you all are to respond. It made me kinda proud. :)
Thanks!

How about this idea.
Offer CHEAP siminars to attend in various resort area around the world so that I can take my wife on vacation and write off the vacations. I like that idea. I'll even buy my own lunch and dinner.
Sort the campaigns alphabetically in the selection box on the reports page. Currently it appears to be in order of campaign creation, and continues to include all discontued campaigns. I personally cant remember the order all of my campaigns were created in. But I am pretty good with the alphabet.
Regards,
PS. I have asked for this change directly to support in the past.
If you have two (or more) people using the accound it's annoying when one sorts by click volume while you sort by CTR. So your nice sorted by CTR view goes to sorted by clicks when you refresh or click around the account. :)
I am tired of that stepping through that wizard.

Its particularly annoying that in 1024x768, on screen one of create ad that you have to scroll down at the moment to press continue.
Content: Awaiting approval
Content: Approved
That will save people (like me!) wondering if their ads for content are languishing in the queue, or if they are actually running but there aren't sites to show them on.
And even better:
Content: Awaiting approval (review estimated for May 19th)
That way I know approx what date the ads would be reviewed for content. It did take longer than I thought it would, but then I was impatient ;)
Usaully these are some sensitive words. But not only!
This will avoid problems I described here [webmasterworld.com...] (msg#8)
Does this request include the MCC interface? If so:
- show amount left in prepay accounts in adsition to amount spent
- show amount spent for sub MCC's in MCC
In Clients Accounts, in general:
- don't show "all but deleted" line if same as "all"
- prefill contact form with account data (overwritable)
- make 'help' link to the appropriate page, not to FAQ home
- make all screens a little bit less wide, preferrably make them flexible width. I always have to scroll horizontally. (Please ask your translators to use short wrappable words, but that's probably another team) ;)
Campaign management:
- show daily dudget on adgroup pages
- make links from keywords tot the diagnostics tool (by clicking on a keyword?)
- option to mark and unmark keywords (with color or flag for easy recognision in different order or time span)
- in 'show deleted' only show actually active ads in the given time frame
- copy function with each ad to be used for new ad creation
Reports:
- set email addresses per report, not per account
- page help would be nice (as in: what does each line in a report request mean)
Help:
- add keywords to pages with synonyms so we can actually find things without using specific terminology
I may come up with a lot more wishes if you let me but now I have to eat something first :)
Thank you in advance!
When creating new ad groups within a campaign, the default for the text that appears in the new ad, should be the text that was in the last ad created, not the text in the very first ad was created. This is particularly annoying when one has "recycled" a campaign due to the 25 campaign limit.
Regards,
When adding new keywords to an Ad Group, I always look over the new keywords in the "Estimate Traffic" page sorted by descending forecast cost per day to make sure I didn't get too general of a keyword. It would be nice if that (Adds at the top, then sorted by descending forecast cost per day) could be the default search when coming from "Add Keywords". A lot of times, I'm adding 50-100 keywords at a time, and a few keywords that are too general can slip through.
