Based on my humble experiences, ads can take up to a week to be reviewed and approved before showing on Content. In the main though, two to three working days appears to be standard.
Why can't we have a small note under our ads that shows if the ad was reviewed for content-network (or reviewed at all) already? If not so easy to implement, a new tool to check review-status of our ads would be great either.
I don't think that it would be so much work for your tech-guys to do something so useful. But it would be very good for us who don't know why our ads don't show, whether it was reviewed and accepted. The implemention of such a tool would mean less work for AdWordsAdvisor, less work for the account reps and the phone people... and less threads here in the forums woth problems concerning the review-process.
So please, make it transparent and let the advertisers know about the status of the review of their ads.

I know just enough about this scenario to know that it is not as straightforward to accomplish as one might imagine. It is a frequently requested feature, though, and I'll quote you in the Advertiser Feedback Report as a 'vote' to include this capability.
AWA
And not only for ads but also for words.
Here is my story:
I have started a new campaing for a new client, the most of the words went on hold immediately, the ads are very targeted and a knew, the words should generate trafic.
I asked the support, why is one of my very targeted phrases On Hold and why there are no impressions for it, he sent a "copy and paste answer" that is wery well known as "make it more relevant".
I answered, please read my e-mail before answering it and tell me, how this phrase can be more relevant, he answered OK, but I can see the impressions for this phrase, there is some delay, wait to see it, too.
After 24 hours I answered - sorry, I do knot know what are you looking on, but there is still 0 impressions. At the end he wrote that some of my keywords were flagged by their system because they required review and approval before they could run.
I can save whole week of "being on emotions" if whe would answer properly on my first e-mail. And if there would be a mark "The word is waiting for a review" the life would be great!
Now are people trying to solve On Hold problem, but if the word / phrase is waiting for a review, then the status Normal / On Hold has no meaning! One day it is Normal, then 2 days On Hold, then back Normal atc, 0 impressions. But the status has no meaning if the word is waiting for a review.
1. Review-Status of Ads
We want to know if and when our ads where reviewed. Perhaps we could even know who reviewed the ad to send an email directly to the responsible person.
1.a. "Non-Family Safe & Adult Sexual Content"-Status of Ads
[adwords.google.com...]
We want to know if our ads were categorized as "non-family safe" or "adult sexual content". Until now we can only guess.
2. Review-Status of Keywords
We want to know if one of our keywords has to be reviewed. Until now we can only wonder why a keyword gets now impressions, but have no possibility to see that it is only waiting for someone to review it.
3. Review of the complete Account
We want to know if and why an account is reviewed and how long it will take. There were several threads on this topic where ads stopped to show because of an account review and began to deliver again one week later. No messages or notifications until now.
Are there any other thinss I forgot?
AdwordsAdvisor, please, make the tech-staff add something where we (and the support-people) can inform ourselves about these things. It would really, really help us.
