You estimate about 25% of the people who are looking for widgets spell it "wigets".
Has anyone used this strategy successfully to build a whole site about "wigets", purposely mis-spelling ther term throughout the website?
Any idea how many people click on the "did you mean widgets?" thing that most of the engines spit back at the user?
Does that filter out enough people so that they don't click down through the mis-spelled listings?

Added: In this case, the misspellings did not lead to related sites - far from it. I believe that's an important point here.
