Hello Everyone,

Has anyone else noticed hits from odd combinations of keywords from google? For the last 3 days I have had some visitors whose queries were combinations of words from different titles of unrelated pages, and so they did not find what they were looking for. The next time they see my URL in a search result, I'd think they would be less likely to click it. Just a temporary glitch I hope?

If they are odd combinations, then there are probably few other sites serving the right pages. If you mean unusual as in didn't optimise for them, then you know what you have to do :)

*build suitable pages ;)

I've had hits for "_searchbox" over the last week or so, just one or two a day. I'm no where in the serps for it and it dosn't appear any where on the site as far as I can tell.

Hi HitProf and bagatel,
I mean unusual as in, for instance, someone queried recently can "widgets be used as a method of xyz". The only reference I have to "widgets" is on a page that has a recipe for how to make "widgets". The only reference I have for "method of" is on a page not linked to the widget recipe page directly, and it is "nothing to do with widgets control methods". The only way google could have come up with that result was to look at every one of my pages and and say well, the two words appear on the same website, so we'll serve up that page. (The page they served up was the "nothing to do with widgets control methods" page.) I am getting relevant hits for my pages, but these odd ones just started cropping up over the last few days.
