My question is quick and simple. When it comes to the title. how many keywords should you put up there. I have many different keywords and kw combos that i try to optimize.

My title currently includes the following kw structure.

kw1 kw2 k3 - kw2 kw4 kw5 - kw6 k3 - kw2 kw7 - k2 kw8

Do i have to many kws on my title?

The title has two functions, and there is a conflict between them.

On the one hand Google gives a high weight to keywords that are in your title, hence the urge to stuff as many of them as possible into it.

On the other hand your title is the first thing a user sees of your site in the SERPs. If it looks awfully spammy the user may well click on a more civilized one, even if it is below you in the SERP.

Did anyone say that SEO was simple :)

If you have many keywords it's best to spread them over several pages. Use only your most important ones on your homepage. Google indexes up to 10 words in the title.

As Mohammed says: write your title for your potential visitors. The title is the first thing they see in the serps in any search engine and in most directories.

I optimize for only one keyword or phrase per page title, then add the site name and other relevant information to this. Page titles are cleaner, keywords are focused, and visitor can clearly read what the page is about.
