Keywords using in "Alt Tag"

Hi! everyone. Really a great forum that i've seen till now. I'm quite new and i' want to know some information on using a keywords on AltTags....So, is it good? Can i use it or i shouldn't. If i can use than how much in quantity? Please give me some information regarding this....

And another thing is that suppose there is a phrase called "Internet Business Opportunity"..so if i use this phrase as my main keyword for the discription of my site than would I be given priority in "Business opportunity" also? So that's all i just want to ask to you all. I hope you all will help me...i'm a bit new in this area so i would appreciate your help..Thank you

alt means alternative text and that's what it should be used for: A text with a description of a picture that some users do not see.

<added>If you optimise a page for a phrase that page will be to some degree optimised for smaller parts of that phrase too.</added>

Thank you for your response.."troels nybo nielsen"I appreciate your help..I mean by telling if i write it too much keywords in the alt tags...Does search engine take it as a spam....there are a lot of images in my page and i would like to work it out with my keyword in every alt tags..So please help me whether i dhould do it or not...

Keyword spamming in alt tags is one of the oldest tricks for webmasters. Search engines learned that years ago. When you describe a picture in your alt text you should only use keywords that are relevant in that context. Remember: Alt text is there for your human visitors and should be usefull for them.

By "context" I primarily mean the image itself and secondarily the text immediately surrounding it. Let's see a snippet of code:

<p>One of the most obvious signs of spring is the soft, light green leaves of the beech.</p>
<p><img border="2" width="121" height="218" alt="Beech with light green leaves." src="http://www.yoursite.com/images/beech-spring.jpg"></p>

Here the alt text tells what is on the image. There are a few relevant keywords from the main text and the image title repeats two of them. Avoid anything looking like spam. Give your images relevant titles that make it easy for you to remember what is what.
