Just need a little help wrapping my brain around this issue. I have new statware that finally shows all the keywords that have been used to find my site. Now the thing is, they are of course not in logical order... so how do I go about getting the keywords matching up?

Thanks,
Mac

Not sure that I understand your problem. I check my keywords in logs for some very clear reasons:

1. To find which keywords are "doing well". Of course I check their positions in search engines. Some of the words from my personal top 10 list are getting their position from page 3 or 4 in search engines. And I check the tendencies: Is a keyword going up or down in the logs?

2. To find neglected possibilities. Words and phrases that suddenly appear in my logs though I never intended them to.

I don't need any "logical order" for doing this. Why do you want that? What am I missing?

Sorry that I could not help you.

macrost - I'm not sure if this is what you mean....

I have seen reports from some stats programs that simply list individual keywords that were used within queries. The keywords may or may not be in some kind of order, but individual words by themselves are useless.

What you really need is reporting software that will make some sense out of the referrer information that's in your server logs... giving you phrases searched... the number of referrals... what the referrer engines were... and what pages were called up. Anything less isn't very useful.

There is a Tracking and Logging forum on WW where you might be able to get more input on the specifics of your tracking setup.

Eeeesh, I totally forgot about this post! :) So anyways, Robert, yes that's kind of like what i'm looking for. I need something that I don't have to install on my server, (virtual server) I can download my logs, so yeah... (train of thought derailed.)
