I've heard varying opinions about the number of keywords.

How important is the number of keywords anymore, really? I've heard no more than four, but I've also heard as many as 100.
Please help...

Meta keywords aren't all that important. But think of them in this fashion - they are words that are part of the focus of a page. A single page cannot possibly have 100 different focuses. There would still be 1 - 10 overall words that could describe the rest. So, there's no real max or min number, but every word that is there should be of importance on that page.

Keep 10-20 keywords to keep yourself happy. The ones in the Title really work and that should contain 80 characters only. So not more then 3-4 keywords work I guess.
