I want to make sure one of my site shows up for regional keywords. Like various towns around my area. Their location is very near the border of two states also.

How do I put this information on the site so it's picked up by the search engines without making it look like crap. xyz product in mytown, ca xyz product in yourtown, ca etc

thanks for any help

Localized searches are generally not so competitive that you need the this "product in location" kind of proximity you show above.

What I've found works is a page that's well optimized for the main product terms, and a nice looking text bar at the bottom of the page containing something like:

Serving the entire YourPlace Area: Mudville ¦ Podunk ¦ Flatsville ¦ Hilltown ¦ ValleyView ¦ etc... Try to keep the list to a dozen or so main towns.

If the main city in the area is more competitive than the other locations, you might want to append it to the end of the title, as in:

Keyword1 Keyword2 Widgets and Widget Repair, Greater YourPlace Area

It usally won't hurt if this part of the title takes you over 60 or 70 characters.

With location-focussed terms, though, like real estate or hotels, you may need to have a page or a site focussed on that location and variations of the product.

How about this: customer testimonials... list the customer's name and city under their testimonial.
