Unreliable results with Wordtracker

When it says a word count of 100 it means 1

I've only recently tried the KEI feature of Wordtracker. Has anybody else noticed that the results are pretty unreliable for anything under a count of "200". In the KEI calculation it sometimes comes up with terms that are so weird that it's hardly likely that any more than one person ever searched for that term, yet Wordtracker may come up with a count of 150.

But this is not always the case. Sometimes it comes up with terms that you think "Yes, it's possible that 80 people searched for that term".

How does one recognise the difference between the reliable and unreliable results?

must admit not used wordtracker for a while now, I always saw it more of a guide than an actuate tool.

Yeah, I think they find there's been one search for keyword1 and two searches for keyword2 so they extrapolate using some weird algo and translate that into figures like 87 and 143.

If they are doing that surely it's something that should be disclosed to subscribers who may be taking them at their word that keyword1 was searched for approx 87 times.

When it comes to KW research I use both wordtracker and the overture suggestion tool. Wordtracker is very useful for getting quick numbers on a lot of variations of a certain KW's (widgets, blue widgets, lightweight blue widgets, widget accessores, etc) and how many searches for each.
