Found your second post so amusing ;)

As often: it depends.

Generally I would go for average 5-8 %.

I would mostly prefer to present content w/ KWs in a 'natural', readable form (as far as we talk on the white side). And mix in KW's in different phrases.

KW density alone is just one factor out of many, as you surely know.

My 2c.

I know it is one of many factors; however I feel I might have over done it; adversly
affecting my score.

fashezee,

Perhaps you already know, but there are many such discussions which you can find from [searchengineworld.com...] using the keywords "keyword density" :)

Although it seems to be much less important than it used to be (at least with Google), I recently had a similar concern, dropped the density from around 15% to about 7% and saw the page go from 70+ to 15.

Admittedly, it's got a few good incoming links with the target keyword in anchor text, but still... :)

As a rule it is suggest that you don’t repeat the same words more than 2 or 3 times in the Meta tags, description, or title.

Otherwise, it could be misinterpreted by the search spider as an abusive action and your site can receive a ranking penalty.
