the keywords 'yahoo.com' 'hotmail.com'

are they searched a lot in ppc SE's

Searches done in June 2003 in overture for yahoo.com are 8238574.
would it make sense to bid for these terms if they are going cheap?
anyone tried such keywords before.

Sohail believe me that is not a great idea. You will lose money faster than Bill gates can earn. One of our fellow members here did this experiment for fun and he bidded for terms such as "google" , "yahoo" etc. He lost the money in record time ;) HTH.

...unless you find somewhere that doesn't put any weight on click through ratio AND has very low bid price AND no competitors for these keywords. Then you just make your ad to PUT OFF people from clicking it unless they are really likely to buy.

Also, you probably don't want to feel the wrath of Microsft & Yahoo by using these terms.
