What is actually more often searched - singular or plural form of the words? For instance: movie or movies?

Definitely try to fit both in as keywords and content words. But I've found that the plural is used most often for classes or groups: ie, movies, widget suppliers, so and so companies, etc.

Plural is definitely more common - since of course the plural sense is the answer to the question:
What are you searching for?
"Dogs" "Cats" "Widgets"
etc.

I'm thinking it would also depend on your business and what search words are used or how they're used in phrases. Afterall many aren't going to find what they are seeking by using "dog" or "dogs" in a search. Let's say in the case of dog or dogs. Someone is looking for goodies for the critters. It would make sense they would use dog houses rather than dogs house?
