Is this theoretically possible?

Ok, here goes...

Let's suppose I have a site that has infrmation about apples, it gets a high listing on 'apples'.

Then I decide I'll add a page selling apple computers and I link to it from my apples home page, would this page about apple computers have an increased chance of getting a high listing?

Newbie question I know

As of now Google does no theming, so a link from a page on apples will help you whether you sell Apple or Dell computers at the receiving end.
