I know European SEO has been around for a while, but I'm new to it, so I could use a few pointers.

Firstly, KEYWORD SELECTION

I would assume you have to find the keywords in their native form, and not just translate any you've sourced in English. To my mind, translation just won't work because of localisation etc.

Secondly, KEYWORD SOURCES

Can you use the global keyword databases (Overture, Wordtracker) or are the numbers of foreign language searches just too small to trust?

How many European countries have keyword databases and where are they? Reading these boards, I've found one in Italy (Godado) which charges a fortune for monthly access, and a couple of Overture-like keyword suggestion tools from Scandinavia.

Are there any more (paid and free)?

What about KeywordStats, does anyone know if their keyword databases include foreign language searches?.

I've read all the stuff on the European forums of course, brilliant stuff, but I'd really like some details on keyword databases in European countries.

Overture has own keword suggestion tools for France, Germany and UK.

I was going to suggest the Google Adwords Suggestion for (almost) each european country but just trying the
italian version myself did not give any italian kewords.?

Overture search term in german doesn't seem to be very accurate. Another problem is that there is no difference made between plural and singular. Unfortunately a strategicly highly important difference.
