Assuming search engines use url keywords and file name keywords as part of their search algorithm and assume hypens are better than underscores:

Which of the following can search engines identify and prefer as keyword usage for url's and file names?

How are the .'s in the url and file names interpreted?

URL:

www.bluewidgets.com
www.blue-widgets.com
www.-blue-widgets-.com

File Names:

redwidgets.html
red-widgets.html
red-widgets-.html

www.-blue-widgets-.com

and

situations
