I just got info on a service that purports to provide exclusive keywords that resolve to my web site if entered in the IE navigation bar. I searched WW for the company's name and did not find it. Is this a new tactic? Any comments on its value?

rharri, try a search for real names etc here [searchengineworld.com]. There are quite a few threads on that.
Generally people weren't too convinced it's a good offer.

Wasnt that allpart of keyords PLc, which eventually went bust. So now all the smaller companies are now trying to cash in on it. But if im talking about he right thing, then the client needs a browser upgrade for the re-direct to take place. In my experience its a load of tripe. IMHO of course.

Most people dont have the upgrade. nor do they know where to get it, and there are so many different smalltime companies selling this product, there are an equal amount of different browser updgrades to match. :)

[webmasterworld.com...]

and here [amsterdam.nettime.org]

and it was realnames, not keywords plc (keywords plc was a another thing i think ) my memory playing tricks on me.

:)
