Hi, im trying to find a good way of seeing how often certain keywords/keyword phrases are typed into search engines, so that i can optimise a marketing campaign...where is the best place to go...?

You can try Google's Adwords Tool, Overture's Suggestion Tool, or Wordtracker. These tools will help you with your search.
