Dymamic url's and keywords

Is the keyword in the url of the <A> tag matters that much

I am stuck here in a situation where I have the choice between dynamic url's or the static ones.
I will crosslink my site with some targeted keywords, the management system could generate the url's dynamicaly or I could use my keyword into the url's meaning then my page would be static. Does the fact of having the keywords into the url's will influence that much search engines?
I would still have the keyword the <A> tag but what should I do?

It is important to have the keywords in the link text.

As for the use of static or dynamic URLs, I prefer static. Dynamic URLs work fine, but I would make sure that they do not have special characters (ex: ?,& ) within them.

But, wich is the best way to turn those dynamic urls into staticc ones? Is there any resource where the different solutions are compiled? If it doesn't exist don't you think that would be a great idea to make one???

I offer myself as volunter for the purpose!

Hope I'm not off base here ... but I think the tool you are edging towards is apache's

mod rewrite

Search of that in this forum - it will show you how to turn dynamic urls to static just like Brett has done in this forum.
