Please help total novice to marketing my site

Hi this is my first posting I have been open since April 05, I have no idea how to get on google (I have submited the site)I read the excellent success in a year article, it is all double dutch to me I have an online shop whenever I add anything or change something I get lots of bots or spiders in, It says in the article too add pages I do not know how many pages I have for instance when I add a new item for sale is this a new page? please help, any suggestions in easy to understand language will be acted upon

A page is any file with content, often a html file or php file (eg: www.example.com/producta.htm or www.example.com/productb.php)

Pages might be dynamically created, if all your product information is stored in a database, then a page is any screen of data presented to a customer following a search.

Thanks for that I have been advised that I need to have meta tags on my site please can anyone enlighten me as to what this is thanks
