I'm looking to target multiple keywords. I am new to optimizing my site for keywords so I would like some help on how I can do this.

If I wanted to target multiple keywords should I target them all on my homepage? Or should I create a seperate page for each keyword and have a link to that page on my homepage?

Any ideas?

Thanks :D

I know of 6 things you can do in order to optimize a page for a keyword :
1) Title :<h1>keyword</h1>
2) File name - www.mysite.com/keyword.htm
3) Top of page text - Keyword embedded into the top of the page. That is the first lines of text on a page.
4) Body text - Keyword mentioned many times in the body text of the page (dont exaggerate ,or else you might get penalized)
5) Internal links -keyword embedded into internal links in the page.Preferably at the top. Also in the title tags of the link.
6) Image - If you have an image ,put the key word in the alt tag.

So, my conclusion is that if you dedicate a seperate page for that keyword then you can fully optimize it.

thank you for the tips!

So it would be best to optimize one page for every keyword instead of just my homepage.

optimize pages for what they contain. homepage is not the best place to put everything on.

Keep your home page in general terms and your inside pages more specialized, i.e.,

home page = Electrical Widgets

inside page = Blue Electrical Widgets
inside page = Purple shockproof Electrical Widgets
