Volume of Traffic for Keywords

Is there a better way?

I am doing some work for an orgainsation I am involved with. I need to try an understand if anyone is searching for the products they offer and therefore if it is worth my time getting involved.

I use Wordtracker, google sandbox tool, overture keyword tool and a couple of others to try to gauge the volume of people looking for a product.

The stated volumes in these tools worry me becuase of the sources and may not be a true reflection for judging search volume for a particular market.

Any ideas on getting reliable ways to see if people are searching for items in a particular market/niche?

Apart from the tools you've used, you can also try Google Adwords if you have an account.

There are a lot of keyword tools out there other than what you have listed, but I won't list them due to the TOS here. However, you should do some deep searches to uncover them.
