Im triying to figure out what my fellow citicenz are searching for on the internet. As Im out side the USA the usual keyword tools don't work. I{m already working with adwords to try to figure them out, but is very slow this way. Are there any tools I could use?

Overture has US and UK specific keyword tools.

Hi,

I too, am looking for a keyword research tool pertaining to my country ... Australia!
No such luck ... Priority Submit had a free one (Overture-based) till last week ... now it's by subscription only.
I don't mind paying really ie it doesn't have to be a free one, just I would like a choice .... something ... anything.
Does anyone know of any other keyword research tool with an Australian database?

Cheers
Robyn

In Keywords Analyzer you can set the datacentres to a number of different individual country settings, including Australia.

Thanks Chris ;-)

I've already purchased KA for use at home and love it, however I'm still trying to convince my boss to buy it for use on my pc at work. They seem to need a full-blown business case for an $80 piece of software ... it will cost more in my time (in dollars per hour) to put a business case together than what KA costs! Frustrating!

I did also buy Keyword Equalizer, but its proxy to other internation databases doesn't seem to work as well as KA ... well at least for Australia it didn't ... it still seems to recognise that I'm from Australia even when I want results from the US database ... tried searching in Google.com (not Google.com.au) and all the ads it was serving were Australian based ... something screwy there. ;-) ... must work off my IP address or something.

Any ideas on that one Chris?

TIA
Robyn

Is KA only good for keyword research for PPC or is it also good for organic research? Probably sounds like a rookie question and thats what I am lol

Ive got Adwords Analyser but it doesnt seem to work well for Australian searches although theres a setting in options to set the datacentre to australia the results that show are still worldwide based not Australian.

Hi - sorry - been out of touch for a while.

Robyn - that's probably the problem. Likewise in Keywords Analyzer, if you specify my country it will default to wherever your ip is located - but if you set up both Overture and Google (this is important as KA gets search data from Overture and Results data from Google) then it will override your default IP country.

As for whether you can use KA for general research - the answer is yes - this is why we programmed the Advanced Search function into it. You can recursively search your results as many times as you like until all possibilities are exhausted.

Hope this helps.

Chris
