Choosing the best keywords for an ecommerce site

Where do I begin?

Hi everybody, I am new here and actually new to the e-commerce world not to the online business and seo.

I have a designer who is doing my personal site. I made sure that he'll make a friendly e-commerce site, with no SID, static pages, friendly shopping cart(static, secure...) Now my problem is finding the right keywords I will optimize my site for.

Please if anybody could advise me on how to make the site more friendly, some tips on how to optimize e-commerce and how should I choose my terms.

I start with Overtures and Adwords keyword suggestion tools. Then I visit competitors sites and see what they are optimising for.

Finally, I forget about keywords for a few days, while I'm doing other things words I've missed pop into my head, so I add them to the list.

Now I've got a list of keywords to build pages for, I get those on line. Then I check my logs for words and phrases I've missed and build more pages for them. This continues unitl I decide the number of people searching for given phrases isn't worth the effort of writing pages, for me thats about one visitor a day.
