All,

Should i bother going down this route...may have been recommended a while back but now? do search engines use this as a weighting towards SERPS?

cheers

I say yes. It reinforces the idea of the key phrase for your page. Even if it doesn't have an effect on search engines, what can it hurt?

I say yes, and I do think it has some effect, if you are very specific (like, don't put EVERY keyword in, but individual keywords on individual pages) However, user wise, you still need to make the page title 'attractive' and marketing focused because it's often the thing that is displayed in the largest point size on the engines results.

some of my top sites are that phrase or word in a .com/.net and even .org

owning a root key word or a prefix of it (i,e,1,247, etc) is a sure way to get traffic from search engines imho

yep domain name keyword is great plus in SEO

url/domainname is interchangeable to me

seems i remember reading some engines looking +/- on web pages use keywords, some liked it and some flagged it

if the web site has the key word in it PLUS big time

web pages...

maybe a subdomain might work better or a directory

I would think the alternatives would be

1. domain name having keyword is best

2. tie for subdomain or directory with key word

3. web page using key word

just thought of this

widget is key word domain you own

do a page at

xwidget.widget.com/ywidget/xywidget.htm

so sub has X variable of top associated word
dir has Y variable of next associated word
page has X Y and Keyword

I can see the SE weight program hitting tilt with that combo

I think I'm gonna try that one

hehe
