I am a small consulting firm and have been asked to help an organization increase its profile on web searches. They e-publish prolifically and want their material to come up high on any internet search. We were originally asked to "keyword" a 1500 article archive -- this I undestand would not do much to increase traffic. What WOULD be recommended? Thanks for any advice.

Thanks Mona: Yes, I would be grateful if you could point me to a few good threads. On the short, are there a few good steps that you would recommend? If we go further on this project, I will definitely need to do more research and may need to bring on additional expertise. Thanks. -Rich

Hmm, that's difficult to answer since I don't know your skill level or exactly what your client wants. There are many, many aspects to SEO. I think what you need to learn is the on page criteria the search engines use to rank a page. The thread above covers the basics very well. From there, you can search WebmasterWorld for more specifics or feel free to sticky me with a question. Enjoy!
