I know this is not gospel, can vary etc, but I was wondering...
Do we know roughly what to multiply that by to get the number of Google searches?
2? 10? 0.8? 500?
I don't even know if it's possible for us to know, if so what would be people's guesses?
Thanks,
LC
Results for "blue widget" might break down to:

"turquoise widget"
"turquoise widgets"

If you were able to break it down it would likly be highly dependant upon the industry/keywords. From adwords (unthrottled, exact match, USA and Canada) reporting, one of our ambiguous terms gets a tiny fraction of the impressions it should ala overture.
