Everyone seems to tell me the doorway is dead but I can't find any proof.
I would like to see a optimised site that is not only good for the viewer but fot the spiders aswell.
Thanks. HIPO
I deal in the main with e-commerce sites where the aim is to drive the customer to the checkout, or at bear minimum the enquiry/contact page.
*Every* page is a "doorway" with the aim of directing the visitor to where you want them to be, the checkout. Treat all the pages in the site as directory quality "doorways", even the disclaimer page. [Don't title it disclaimer though, they bomb. :)]
Shortcuts are hard to come by but if the customer requires good rankings they need to provide you with content to work with.
>doorways dead ?
I've been using doorways for sometime now and overall had a good response from them, most of my clients sites are ranking well with a good spread over most SE, except the obvious excite/inktomi.
As NFFC is saying I think the key to good doorway is content and like most things using one's head rather than the automated tools around.I use WPG critic and reporter and so far it hasn,t let me down just stay from the page generator.
BTW very nice flash site, I've not used flash for sometime now, but a client has asked for a flash site after he look at this one \\www.gasan.com very nice ;) better get the manual out
