We are based outside of the US and we are wondering this will cause us any problems in the future.

Is your concern that because you are outside the US and might be considering US firms for the feeds, that the feeds would be problematic as far as search engines and search rankings go?
If that is the concern I don't believe I have ever seen evidence of a problem along those lines. If your concern is different from SEO effects that search feeds might have on your site, perhaps you could be more specific as to what you're worried about.
