Im finding that i can pretty much sum up my articles in around 200/250 words.

I feel that my visitors want to the point articles.

But will the search engines favour this approach

Hey adamnichols45:)

Your articles seem quite small. I usually write articles that range from 700 words up to 1200 or more. You might think of adding more to your articles. You also might think of varying your article sizes.

Remember, search engines like content. They feed on it and they especially like it if it's unique.

Well...good luck!

As with most answers, my guiding principle is: Make them as long as needed to get the points across properly for the reader. People keep worrying too much about the SE's on stuff like this. Write for the user and the SE's have an uncanny way of coming along for the ride.

But if I were only thinking about the SE's, I like frenzy77's answer. Remember that nearly half of all searches are completely unique in a given year (no other person searched on that exact same phrase). Those are typically "long tail searches" and pages with greater amounts of content have a better chance at picking up those unique, long tail searches.
