Hi all,
I was wandering if there is some kind of a ‘penalty’ with respect to SEO, SERPSs, etc, if you are using redirect script for out-bound links (like it’s done here in WW).
Example: when linking from your site to some other site , out-bound link would look something like

www.your-site.com/rd.cgi/www.some-other-site.com

Do SE like/dislike/don’t care about outbound links in this format, and do they penalize you in SERPS for it, etc.
(I personally think that there aren’t and SE adverse effects, but figured to ask anyway)

It's such a very common thing it seems innocent enough, though there are sites here and there that you can tell are hoarding. Those sometimes open outbounds in a frameset on their site, and that looks contrived.

I don't think I've ever heard of a penalty for redirecting OBLs, but it isn't the greatest thing to build up a lot of "authority" score with zero hub score. IMHO there should be some balance.

Thanks for replay. My motivation for potentially putting redirect script for outbound links is to ‘see’ where my visitors are going to (for stats analysis, perceived usefulness of links, etc).
