Hey guys:)

I finally got my site up and running. My main page is
number one in a specific engine. The only problem is it's not popping up under it's key terms if it's not searched with quotes.

*It is only coming up if it includes All the keywords in quotes.
*It is also a 4 keyword phrase.

Like this:

"Blue widget repair fixes"

Q.1. >I was wondering, if i'm number one for this keyword combination, should i shorten the key phrase down to 2 or 3 words and possibly expect the same results for that phrase if it's searched without quotes?

Ex.

"Blue widget repair"

Q.2. Also, why is it coming up number one only with all
words in quotes and not without quotes?

If i shorten the keywords down, will it show up if i search for it without the quotes?

I was wondering since these results are for the mainpage
of the site, and the search engine results *are the words* i want to be found for *but not* with people using quotes. It's not likely that people will search for the product with quotes. Maybe i should use less keywords in the phrase? *The keyword phrase is 4 words.

Q3. Lastly, if i have the keywords:

"blue widget repair tool"

>Will the search engines find me for all the terms in any order/combination of keywords?

For example"

"blue widget"
"blue repair"
"blue widget repair"
"blue repair tool"
"blue widget repair tool"

>Should i leave it as it is and just get more links to my site?

I only have maybe 2 or 3 sites linking to me(recips) and i'm think number one with only those sites linking to me is pretty good. No other sites have linked to me since i'm new.

Any advice?
Well...

Thanks guys for your help:)
I appreciate your help.

I had the same experience.
New site, few links specifically optimised for a single 3 word phrase.
For the first couple of months it only figured in the SERPS (at number 1!) for the phrase in quotes.
Eventually it began to show up for pairs and combinations
(eg chocolate cupcake for chocolate cup cake)
Getting about 1000 page requests per day now.
Useless for Adsense though, no commercial value at all.
