Hi all,
This is my first post.
Recently, we are going to replace several of our html pages(Chinese version) with better style and look and feel. But the concern is that our current pages are highly ranked in goolge, yahoo search engine. We don't know if we will lose customers if we replace with brand new pages. Will redirect help? Are there any other strategies we can use?
some people state that our multilingual homepages do not respect the current rules and regulations of major foreign search engines.
Any comments you can give or resources you can direct what rules and regulations we should follow in order to comply with foreign search engines.
Thank you.
Betty

Welcome to WebmasterWorld bettys. Gee, that's my mom's name. ;-)

301 redirects from the old URI's to the new ones will definitely help. That's assuming the pages are the same and only the URI's changed.

Hi Caveman,
I just like the name "Betty". It makes me think she is very traditional. :))
Thank you so much. I am very appreciated for your suggestion. I have discuss this issue with other people too. It seems that the redirect is a good solution.
