Forum Moderators: open
Currently, since my site is fairly new, I have a PageRank of 1.
What I need to know how to do is raise my page rank and get additional targeted traffic. Any ideas?
Any help would be much appriciated.
Thanks,
Andrew

In any case you may want to keep the specifics of your business private so that you don't spur additional competition, or give your competition information that might help them identify who you are and incorporate that in their efforts to compete against you.
Every forum has a link to a Library of significant posts from the past. Check right below the title of the forum for the link.
You may want to browse the Link Dev Library [webmasterworld.com] for tips on link building.
Obviously it's outside of the scope of the link dev forum to serve as a drop-in clinic for developing site specific link building plans. Although discussions about specific scenarios are encouraged.
Software promotion can consist of getting the word out to influencers, the people who influence those who make the decisions to purchase a software, and also for promoting it directly to those likely to use it. It's important to think of demographics like the two above and think through the process of reaching them.
Identify the users and the keywords they would use on search engines and make sure those words are in your website. Then embark on a PPC campaign, making sure you have a good analytics program for mining your traffic for phrases used to expand your marketing campaign. It's good intelligence.
Be sure to have a PAD file and submit to software directories. A FREE but limited version of your program is a great way to promote your site, especially if you require a link back to your website for the registration of the free version. After using it awhile, they may feel it's worthy to upgrade to a full paid version.
Good luck.
