Photo URL's matter for SEO?

Do Photo URL's make a difference to SERPs?

I was wondering how important the actually URL is to SE's. We have a site that currently diplays photos on a different base domain and url from the site we are trying to get ranked, does this hurt our rankings?

Also, we maintain other domains/sites that post the same photos. Do you think we would get backlink credit for displaying photos on the other sites that contain our main "marketing" domain?

Your help is appreciated....

To be clear you're saying that the photo pages on your domain are referencing images on another domain? If this is accurate, then no, this will have no negative affect on rankings.

You could add a "Photos provided by example.com" link on the secondary domains that are using the photos from your main domain. There are a number of factors that will play into the actual benefit of these links, such as IP per site, content, etc.
