RSS and SEO: where to place feeds?

i'm looking to place a publisher's feed on my site (commercial site) for SEO purposes.

for optimal SEO, where should feeds be placed?

what kinds of pages?

how high/low in the site hierarchy?

where on the page?

is more than one feed OK?
