What's the deal with this new SEO book?

no affiliation --- just wondering if it's worth $20

I now work directly with several print authors and publishers. I've seen how long it takes to bring a book to press. IMO, except for the most fundamental concepts, it's unlikely that the finer points of SEO will be up-to-date in any book like this.

Ebooks? Maybe.

I don't know that book, but I am quite sure that you can not find something better or newser than here.

If it is "printed" book sure it is "old"; during the time needed to print it everything could have changed!

It is difficult to maintain updated the monthly edition of the "UnFair Advantage Search Engine Book" edited by Stephen from Planet Ocean Communication and digitally distribuited.

To be perfectly honest (which I'm known to be on occasion ;)), I would suggest, before accepting any source as authoritative, that you do a search on Google to see how they're doing.

the whole idea of printing s "book" about SEO technqiues is crazy. Things change very quick. The best you can hope for is 4 weeks for someone to write a book, (or genuinely revise it), a few weeks for printing, a week for distribution and a few days to receive it through the post etc.

Forums like this are so much better because they change daily. They are also the sub total of lot of contributors, not just a few, so you can get a feel of how sensible a technique is.

The Web is the best place to get information about the Web!

It depends on the book.

The idea with our free e-book (mentioned above), is to provide a comprehensive list of links to SEO resources - we don't discuss SEO tactics in depth.

It works because dead links are removed weekly and the updated version uploaded to the server. You can't do that with a print version.

BTW, it's called "The Mother of all Search Engine Reference Books II".

I think Internet Marketing principles will remain the same for a while, but SEO changes like everyone above has said, too quickly.
