I do SEO in a popular domain and have loads of images from many of our sites. I am sure their are a lot of searchers also using image search for our kind of product lines. Even I use image search for searching some of these products in google.

I don't know how google indexes images. Is their a way I can do some SEO on images, to rank images from our sites in top row in page 1 of google images SERPs. So this would bring users clicking on our images to our sites.

I have found in the past that giving an image the same name as the product helps. Also I believe an Alt Tag with the keyword you want to rank for will also help. Just don't overdo the Alt Tag.

ie say you were selling blue widgets you would name your image blue-widget.jpg and you would use the alt text "blue widget".
