Hey guys:)

I have a webpage that has possible duplicate content in it. I tried re-wording the page but it still seems somewhat repetitive. The page is a disclaimer page so it repeats some phrases quite a bit such as: not reponsible for, not liable, you assume all liabilities, etc. The phrases are used throughout the page in different sections.

So my questions are:

Q.1. Is it ok to use the meta data:

<meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow" />

for this page to keep it from being indexed and looked at as duplicate content or spam?
>What happens if it is not indexed?

Q.2. Can i use "noindex, follow" and will it *not* be indexed and eliminate any possible penalties?

Q.3. If i use "noindex, follow" what exactly does follow do for the page?

Not really sure about not indexing and letting it follow the links. What happens if the page is not indexed or followed?

Thanks guys for your help:)
*Could you please answer each question? I'd like to know how this works.

Thanks again guys:)

I can't really answer each individual question because I have no "actual" experience of the effects of doing each. I haven't research or recorded findings in anyway to give you a definite answer.

However, I would think that it is more likely to be classed as duplicate content if you had 2-3 pages that all had the same information on it.

To use the same phrase throughout 1 page, unless you repeat it a ridiculous amount of times, should be OK.

Most people have these pages on there sites, and it doesn't appear to cause a de-listing for them.

What I tend to do with these sorts of pages, rather than using no follows etc, is simply put the file in my robots.txt to stop spiders crawling it at all.

Hope this helps.

The links on the page will be followed, even though the page itself is not in the active index as a potential search result.
