Is it possible to make a Flash site SE friendly?

I know spiders hate Flash, but are there any tips on making a Flash site SE friendly? Or is this an impossible task?

In my opinion there is only so far you can go with this.

Try to keep the usability good.....have an HTML version and a Flash version.

Try to keep the speed up, which means small download times and also have the files relatively small in size.

If you were really intent on using Flash, a way to have the site rank well would be to use cloaking.

Have you ever noticed how you can't layer anything over a Flash movie...it always renders on top of everything else.

Now imagine yourself positioning a layer behind the Flash movie using an external css file and whatever absolute positioning necessary to put the text up high on the page while keeping it invisible behind the movie.

This is just one possibility.

Wouldn't a layer behind a Flash movie be considered spamming?
