If I have a site with 900 pages of content, 2000 words minimum per page (this does not include fluff pages) with a keyword density of 7% ran the submission through Yahoo and now waiting on Google to index. Got a DMOZ listing already.. will I still need dedicated SEM?
I am under the impression that size is key. I have optimized for words that nobody thinks of that get about 50,000 searches per month (according to that Overture Search Tool) and will try and push even further. But with all that my question is "Is dedicated SEM relevant?"
HELP HERE GUYS...
JF.
We know what SEM is, generally speaking, but I ask because in today's world, it's hard to imagine a site succeeding much without SEM. SEM (simplistically) = everything from kw research (which you've obviously done) to link dev, to PR releases, to, well, all sorts of stuff.
IF your question is: 'How well can I do with kw's targetting minimally searched kw's?', then I guess the answer is: Pretty well until others catch on...if you have some decent inbound links.
In most areas, others have caught on. But not all areas.
IMO, size of site still matters, but unless you're talking tens of thousands of useful pages, other things matter more these days. 100,000 page site: All bets are off.
There are lots of ways to skin a cat. ;-)
I absolutely agree with your opinion. I believe that there can be no such thing as not dedicated SEM.
When individuals begin looking on websites akin to radio/tv stations (media houses) is when I think the SEM issue will be really pushed. But for now I want the spiders to see me as the authority, so 100,000 pages of content is what I am aiming for before June 2006.
Your thoughts guys..
