Can you use one of your high ranking sites to promote another?

I have a website that has a high ranking and I was wondering if I could benifit from that, promoting a new site Im developing?

I do that all the time. In fact, I do that every time.

If you can find the topical transition also, then you can even kick start it with traffic.

A number of my sites were deliberately built on tangents to an existing sites topic for that very reason.
