Search Engine Basics

Hi all,

First post here. I have a lot of experience creating web applications but never actually deploying a "website". And so no experience or real knowledge on how to get my site properly indexed by search engines. I was wondering if there was a good overview and tutorial you could recommend?

I'm going to be taking a nice long flight so any thing I could print out and read over to give me a good foundation would be great.
